In the past two days, two lists of enterprise rankings have been released in China, causing quite a stir in the ceramic industry.
On December 17, Foshan Enterprise Federation and Foshan Entrepreneurs Association released the "Top 100 Foshan Enterprises in 2019".
This list refers to international practice and is based on the operating income of Foshan enterprises in 2018 as the basic standard and comprehensive consideration of operating indicators.
The 100 Foshan companies on the list include Country Garden Holdings, Midea Group, Hisense Home Appliances, Xinghai Copper and Aluminum, Midea Real Estate, China Lesso Group, Litai Group, Galanz, Haitian Seasoning Food, Infore Investment Holdings, etc.: Geographically speaking, there are 25 companies in Chancheng District, 35 companies in Nanhai District, 34 companies in Shunde District, 4 companies in Sanshui District, and 2 companies in Gaoming District. Nanhai and Shunde have become the two major gathering areas for the top 100. The business of Shunde companies on the list Revenue accounts for 69% of the total operating revenue of the top 100 companies. In terms of industry, manufacturing, real estate and wholesale industries contribute the largest number of companies. Manufacturing companies have an absolute advantage, with half of the top ten coming from the manufacturing industry.
On December 18, the People’s Daily released the “China Brand Development Index (CBDI)”.
This list is based on the evaluation of the company's brand creation capabilities based on six dimensions of indicators: "innovation leadership, comprehensive strength, market recognition, profitability, social responsibility and user reputation".
The brands on the list include Huawei, Alibaba, SAIC, Tencent, China Mobile, PetroChina, Gree, State Grid, Bank of China, China State Construction, etc. 100 brands: geographically speaking, from Beijing, Guangdong, Shanghai, Zhejiang , Jiangsu, 11 regions, among which Beijing and Guangdong continue to maintain their leading advantages; from an industry perspective, covering 24 industries mainly including finance, automobiles, equipment manufacturing, and information technology, the real economy shortlisted brands have reached all brands 50% of the total reflects China’s philosophy and strategy of “building a nation through manufacturing”.
For the release of the "Top 100 Foshan Enterprises in 2019", the ceramics industry is quite proud, because there are 4 ceramics and supporting companies on the list, namely New Pearl Group ranked 31st, and Science and Technology ranked 37th. Dajieneng, 75th-ranked Oceano Ceramics, and 86th-ranked Mona Lisa Group. In Foshan, a city founded on manufacturing, especially traditional manufacturing, the output of eight industries including ceramics, microwave ovens, refrigerators, sterilizing cupboards, electric fans, water heaters, air conditioners and aluminum profiles ranks first in the world. Although the output value of the ceramic industry does not rank among the top three industries in Foshan, ceramics has long become a business card of Foshan, and its importance to Foshan is self-evident.
However, in such an important industry and in such a city that attaches great importance to manufacturing, only three ceramic companies (excluding Keda Clean Energy as a supporting company) are on the list of "Top 100 Foshan Enterprises in 2019", and they are all ranked Relatively far back. The ceramic industry is large but not strong, and lacks real leading companies and star brands, which must make ceramic people reflect.
On the "China Brand Development Index (CBDI)" list, as a 500 billion industry, as an industry that is inseparable from the ceramic culture that is an important symbol of the origin of Chinese civilization, the ceramic industry "passed zero" . Serious shortcomings such as the large and inappropriate size of the ceramics industry, lack of innovation, low overall competitiveness, and criticism of environmental protection must make ceramic people reflect.
