Among them, the production of ceramic enterprises in Qingyuan Heyun District and surrounding areas, which was the first to undergo natural gas transformation and adopt a single gas source of LNG, was most affected.
After the pipeline gas entered December, the gas supply volume was relatively stable, and the gas price did not show a sharp upward trend after the price adjustment in November.
On December 10, an insider from a ceramics company in Guangdong said that gas use in their area was once again restricted due to insufficient gas supply.
Qingyuan Heyun restricted gas consumption twice in one week
This is not the first time that the Heyun area of Qingyuan has experienced gas outages and gas restrictions due to insufficient gas consumption.
At the beginning of this year, Qingyuan Heyun required that ceramic companies that do not use natural gas are not allowed to resume production. As of April, the transformation of the local companies has basically been completed. According to the latest survey data from "Ceramic Information", there are currently 12 ceramic companies and 46 production lines in Heyun Town, Qingyuan, operating normally.
Because a single LNG gas supply is used, the gas price in Heyun area has always been the highest in Guangdong. Moreover, from the completion of the transformation to December, gas outages occurred due to excessive air pressure in the gas supply pipeline, construction damage and dug pipelines, etc., which affected the normal production of the company.
Since November, domestic gas prices have skyrocketed, and LNG supply has become even tighter. It is reported that in early December, a gas restriction incident due to insufficient gas supply occurred in the Heyun area. Many ceramic companies were forced to limit production for many days. In just one week, today, companies were once again required to restrict gas consumption due to insufficient gas supply. .
Gas price approaches 4 yuan/m³, LNG supply in Guangdong is tight
"Ceramic Information" learned from an energy company that there is a shortage of LNG supply not only in Qingyuan but also in Guangdong.
“Right now, the gas supply in Guangdong is tight, and prices have gone crazy. The key is that there is no gas even after the price increase, and there are no ships coming back from the terminals.” The person in charge of a large energy supplier told Ceramics Information that LNG is currently arriving. The price of goods has reached 5,500 yuan/ton. Based on the gasification rate of 1,400 m³/ton, the gas price will rise to at least 3.93 yuan/m³.

In addition to the substantial increase in demand, the failure of Guangxi Beihai Terminal to resume operations is also an important reason for tight supply. Currently, the LNG used in Guangdong mainly comes from Shenzhen Dapeng, Dongguan Jiufeng, Zhuhai Jinwan, and Guangxi Beihai receiving stations. Among them, a fire broke out at the Beihai LNG receiving station in Guangxi in early November and has been out of service ever since. This has also exacerbated the tight LNG supply situation in Guangdong.

In addition to Qingyuan Heyun, Jiangmen is also a ceramic production area that uses LNG gas supply. Although Foshan City and most areas in Zhaoqing City have pipeline gas supply from the national large pipeline network, in order to prevent insufficient pipeline gas supply, most areas in Zhaoqing City Enterprises have built their own LNG stations, and Foshan ceramic enterprises are also actively applying to build their own LNG stations during the natural gas transformation process, which means that LNG plays a decisive role in Guangdong ceramic production.
As a supplement to pipeline natural gas, most of the 30 ceramic companies in Gaoyao District, Zhaoqing, have built their own LNG stations. This not only helps ensure that the companies have sufficient gas, but the competition between LNG and pipeline gas also helps companies obtain more Low gas prices.
However, there are many factors that affect the supply of LNG. Ceramic parks that only use LNG for gas supply appear to be restricted everywhere. Qingyuan Heyun's repeated gas outages and gas restrictions are not an isolated case. Since Jiangmen City completed its natural gas transformation in September, it has still been limited by insufficient gasification capacity, limiting enterprise production.
